Postdoctoral Researcher | University of New South Wales

Dr Zhang holds my Bachelor of Renewable Energy Engineering with Honours Class 1 at UNSW. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with his research focused on the electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide using metal-free carbon-based material.

Dr Zhang's current projects focus on the electrosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide by utilizing oxygen and electricity with metal-free vertical graphene material as the catalyst. Vertical graphene materials are a relatively new class of materials that offer unique properties for electrochemical applications, with larger surface area, higher conductivity, and excellent stability compared to the traditional graphene materials. Its non-stacking properties make it ideal for use in electrochemical reactions. The use of metal-free vertical graphene materials in the electrosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide is a promising approach to improving the efficiency and sustainability of the process.
